"Bouca do Moinho" means "place of the windmill". The only remains of the original house - presumably the windmill - are the granite walls supporting the level area now used to park the car.
The house is made of a single skin of breeze blocks, rendered outside and plastered internally on the first floor. Only the first floor is residential and consists of two small bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. More recently a narrow extension has been added to make possible a shower and an inside toilet.
The ground floor is an 'adega' where wine was made and stored, there is also a large double bedroom. Each floor had its own entrance and there was a small concrete terrace to the East.
In addition to the main house there are two rough outbuildings with leaky tin roofs, one of which was used as a stable.
The garden consists of three level terraced areas, each of which was planted with 'americano' grapes.
