In 2010, stranded by an Icelandic volcano, we found Bouca do Moinho.
It is an undistinguished house in a small village high on the side of a mountain in the Serra Soajo.
The village, Parades do Vale, is 15 minutes drive from Arcos de Valdvez in the Lima valley, the first river major river south of the Minho (which forms the boundary between Portugal and Spanish Galicia).
The views from the house are magnificent and the area is beautiful.
On the other side of the mountain is the wonderful Penedes Geres National Park.
In time we intend to re-build the house as a holiday home for our family and friends.
